Privacy policy
Arkikahvila is designed as an anonymous service. We don't keep a register of users and we don't require signing in. On this page we explain what data the service processes and why.

What data is processed
The service does not collect personal data into a register. Using the site does not require registration or signing in.
The service processes the following data:
- Technical log data — the web server stores ordinary log data (IP address, browser, time). This is used for the technical maintenance of the service and for ensuring information security. Logs are kept for at most 30 days.
- Cookies — the service uses session cookies (session management) to enable the site to function. The cookies do not contain personal data.
- Forum messages — messages written to the forum are stored. The messages are anonymous: the user is asked only for a self-invented nickname, not a real name, email or phone number. A one-way hash of the IP address is stored to prevent abuse — the original IP address cannot be recovered from the hash.
- Food aid tips — a user can send a tip about a food aid point. The tip is stored for checking. Here too, only an IP hash is stored, not the original IP address.
- Benefit survey answers — the benefit survey's answers are processed only in the user's browser and are not stored on the server at all.
Google Analytics — only with consent
The service may use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) for statistics on site use. Google Analytics is not loaded and does not set cookies before you have given explicit consent via the site's cookie banner by choosing "Accept all". If you choose "Only essential", Google Analytics is not loaded at all.
If you give consent, Google Analytics collects information about page visits (e.g. page views, visit duration, approximate location, browser and device details) using cookies and similar identifiers. These identifiers may be personal data.
Transfer of data outside the EU: Google may also process data in the United States. The transfer is based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework approved by the European Commission and/or standard contractual clauses. More information: Google's privacy policy policies.google.com/privacy.
You can withdraw your consent at any time (see "Cookie settings"). You can also prevent tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
Google AdSense — only with consent
The service may show Google AdSense ads (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). The AdSense ad script is not loaded and does not set cookies before you have given consent by choosing "Accept all". With "Only essential", AdSense is not loaded and no ads are shown.
If you give consent, Google may use cookies to serve and measure ads. Data may then also be processed in the United States on the transfer bases mentioned above. You can manage your ad settings at adssettings.google.com.
Arkikahvila never shows ads for payday loans, consumer credit or gambling — this is the service's public promise.
User rights
Because we don't collect personal data into a register, there is no traditional registration or user account. The forum nickname is anonymous and not linkable to a person.

Cookie settings and withdrawing consent
When you arrive on the site for the first time, the cookie banner asks for your consent. You can choose "Only essential" (only the session cookies required for the service to function — no analytics, no ads) or "Accept all" (you also allow Google Analytics and AdSense). Both options are equally easy to choose.
Your choice is respected, and no analytics or advertising scripts are loaded before you have accepted them. You can withdraw your earlier consent or change your choice by clearing your browser's site-specific data (cookies and local storage) for this site, after which the cookie banner will ask again on your next visit.
Essential session cookies are required for the service to function (for example form security) and cannot be switched off.
